Kingdom of Saudi Arabia – Our New Frontier

News

02 Aug 2018

With recent developments in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia shaping a new vision, the country has opened a host of opportunities and attractions for international business markets.   Ambitious infrastructure upgrades are underway, in conjunction with major developments of new business cities alongside upgrades to the leisure and entertainment sectors catering to the increased tourism prospects.

According to independent Economic Outlooks, it is projected that 2018 would mark the start of the execution and implementation process for the major reforms laid out in 2017. All these efforts would eventually push the nation closer to ‘Vision 2030’.

In short: there’s a great deal to be done, which translates to an enormous number of projects to be delivered.

Demonstrating Compass’ client-centric ethos, Management made the decision to follow our clients to both Jeddah and Riyadh in 2016, establishing a permanent presence with in-country resources optimising the ability to service clients in Riyadh, Jeddah, Khobar, Dammam and further afield in the Kingdom.

In two years Compass has not only nurtured a blossoming multi-sector Project Portfolio but has been steadily increasing our Cost and Project Manager headcount on a monthly basis!  So much so, we’ve outgrown our existing space in Riyadh and are cementing our belief in the country by opening a new, larger home-base in Riyadh.

Sectors

They say the greatest asset in a business is its people.  This is especially poignant to Compass’ success, wherever in the World we work.   Our Saudi Arabia Teams have lived and thrived in the Kingdom for a combined 30+ years, with their honed project management expertise tracking the economic growth trends and ensuring we are well placed to deliver within the following sectors:

  • Compass’ unique delivery skill-sets have been further amplified, bolstered by our recent wins in the Leisure and Entertainment sectors – a largely fledgling industry, where skilled resources can be hard pressed to source.
  • The growing population’s desire for more high-end and casual dining options has resulted in an increasing number of Food & Beverage multiplexes, as well as standalone dining destinations.
  • As a culmination of the expansion in the Leisure, Entertainment and F&B sectors, the number of Retail and mega-malls planned or currently under construction is massive.  Delivering these mixed-developments entails a combined knowledge of various complicated components and timeframes.
  • Our Hospitality specialists are undertaking the design and project management of the uber luxury Langham Hotel in Jeddah and are currently studying a host of other new or distressed luxury and mid-tier hotel projects.
  • As the non-oil sectors flourish, so does the need to build on the existing Industrial & Manufacturing support structures and supply chains, with warehousing complexes booming as large multinationals flock to the country.
